Work History

Research Assistant

University of Houston
Houston
01.2024 - Current
  • This is a continuation of my research in high energy physics that began in my undergraduate career. Much effort has been invested into simulating particle collision events for the Electron Ion Collider, a soon to be particle collider that is to replace the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider.

Research Assistant

Prairie View A&M University Physics Department
Prairie View
09.2023 - 05.2024
  • Briefly spent time assisting a professor in materials science related endeavor. Specifically, low temperature resistivity measurements of Cerium Cobalt Indium 5 doped with Praesedenium (CeCoIn5), were obtained using a Quantum Versa Lab Physical Property Measurement System. We determined the resistivity of single crystals by utilizing a four-terminal measurement technique.

Teaching Assistant

Prairie View A&M University Physics Department
Prairie View
01.2022 - 05.2024
  • Assisted professors in guiding their students through their university physics and general physics laboratory sessions. Over the course this duration, I also spent time outside of laboratory sessions tutoring individual students and groups of students, helping them finish homework assignments, and helping them prepare for laboratory and lecture examinations. The topics included classical physics, electrodynamics, and thermodynamics.

Research Traineeship

University of Houston/Brookhaven National Laboratory
05.2022 - 05.2023
  • Spent six weeks at the University of Houston and two weeks at Brookhaven National Laboratory exploring high energy physics.
  • The duration of time at University of Houston was spent investigating information associated with high energy physics and nuclear physics, such as the Standard Model, Quark Gluon Plasma, Neutrino Physics, Feynman diagrams, etc. Nearing the end of my duration here, I gave a presentation on the composition of neutron stars.
  • The duration of time at Brookhaven was spent exploring the experiments at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. Much emphasis was placed examining the components of the STAR detector, but additional time was spent examining the components of PHEONIX detector.
