Plumbing Apprentice
Over the summer, I worked with my dad, and conveniently, it was his business that I worked for. Over the summer, I learned a new trade and strengthened my communication skills with customers. Here are some things I did:
- Assembled fittings, such as elbows, tees, and valves, into a system.
- Connected water supply lines to appliances such as dishwashers and washing machines.
- Installed and repaired plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, toilets, showers, and bathtubs.
- Ran tests to check the performance of newly installed plumbing components.
- Assisted with pipefitting tasks, including threading pipes and soldering joints.
- Tested water pressure levels throughout pipelines using gauges.
- Repaired broken or defective parts in water supply lines and drainage systems.
- Maintained records of plumbing jobs completed.
- Removed old materials from installations prior to replacing them.
- Responded promptly to customer inquiries regarding service calls.
