Position Overview

Performs structural repair, modification, and corrosion control on military aircraft including fighter, bomber, mobility, and rotary-wing platforms. Maintains airframe integrity through inspection, fabrication, and replacement of damaged components while ensuring full compliance with environmental regulations and occupational safety standards.

Hazardous Waste Management & Safety Leadership

• Classified waste streams generated during maintenance, including solvents, paint sludges, and expired chemicals, ensuring compliance with RCRA and EPA criteria.
• Proper Disposal: Execute cradle-to-grave hazardous waste management; segregate incompatible materials, containerize wastes correctly, label per 49 CFR/DOT standards, and coordinate certified disposal through Defense Logistics Agency and permitted Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDFs)
• Maintained accurate hazardous waste manifests and logs, ensuring documentation met retention requirements and audit readiness.
• Spill Response: Serve as initial responder for hazardous material releases; deploy containment, execute decontamination, and report through proper chains per base and federal requirements
• Conducted Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for maintenance tasks, identifying Personal Protective Equipment requirements and enforcing safety protocols.
• Training & Compliance: Brief crew members on Hazard Communication (HazCom) standards, chemical-specific Safety Data Sheets, and airfield safety procedures; maintain currency on OSHA, AFOSH, and EPA regulations
