  • Critical facility is the Mira Loma DC that serves as the company’s central supply chain hub for the import of over 4,000 overseas shipping containers and distribution to the many thousands of customers who purchased the company’s tabletop, giftware, and seasonal decorative products
  • DC operations are seasonal requiring an annual ramping up of support for a 3-month period to a 7/24 operation
  • The Mira Loma DC contains over 200 LAN nodes connecting 8 Windows NT servers with 120 desktop systems
  • In addition, a 2.4 GHZ Radio Frequency (RF) system consisting of 44 antenna access points and 76 mobile data collection units is installed throughout the building
  • The high availability server farm consists of Compaq Proliant servers, configured for fail over operation with independent Winchester RAID 1+0 array storage systems
  • Core application systems consist of a MS SQL Server based ScanData system to automate packing and shipping of product and Irista’s StockMaster/2000 Warehouse Management System (WMS) that provides inventory control, receiving, locating, and picking modules
  • StockMaster/2000 uses an Oracle database and RF system to maintain accurate inventory for all product
  • Telecommunications responsibility included all PBXs, their voice mail systems and their integration with MS Exchange
  • Cisco routers were used to connect the facility LANs with the Syratech WAN
  • A combination of Cisco and Nortel switches are used throughout all three facilities
  • Annually prepared and submitted to upper management both operating and capital budgets and responsible for budgetary performance
  • Position responsibilities required the use of project management methodologies that relied on MS Project
