Born in Uruguay with congenital heart disease which led to extensive early exposure to the medical field. Inspired to pursue a nursing degree from a young age. Completed my nursing degree in Montevideo at age 20. Moved to the United States at age 21 where I completed a two year English as a Second Language program. Met my husband and married. Completed my Associates degree. Moved with my husband to Michigan for his medical school training. Worked at University of Michigan as a nursing technician where I was able to use my Spanish and some of my nursing skills, which placed me back in the hospital setting that I love. Once we started having children, during my husband's third year of training, I decided to stay home with my kids. Started substitute teaching in a preschool as my kids grew. Would love to return to the hospital environment where I feel I can make a difference and help others.
