I decided to enlist in the military and pursue further education after high school. This served as ideal training for my first big job since I ended up shadowing a paraprofessional who works with preschoolers. I was interested in working with individuals of all ages and in a variety of circumstances. I spent ten months away while in the Army where I shadowed my instructor at military school and received a certificate as the class's distinguished honor graduate. This provided me with a strong push into the civilian world.
After exceeding my training requirements and returning to New Jersey in 2023, I began working under a military contract. In terms of education, my goal was to become a physician's assistant. I enrolled in a medical assistant training program to better prepare myself for a career working with people. This has been an interesting journey that I would not have had the opportunity to experience otherwise. Each day is unique, which keeps me on my toes. I enjoy working with a diverse group of people, each with their own set of needs. Whether I'm at the base fulfilling orders and assisting others, or in class learning medical etiquette's and procedures.
Outside of work, I volunteer with a local organization that works with hospitals, distributors, and manufacturers to collect and deliver high-quality excess medical supplies to eligible healthcare facilities in medically underserved places throughout the world. Not only is it a pleasant and welcoming environment, but I also enjoy working together toward accomplishing a common goal.
I am most excited about the opportunity of doing such things collectively with a team and working toward becoming more than just a person in a company or office, but someone who actually contributes to making a difference.
