I am currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Missouri-Columbia. I have experience as a researcher, educator, tutor, and caregiver. My experiences working with children Pre-K-High school have included working as an in-classroom and after-school support/tutor, holding a position as an Assistant Dean of Students, and providing one-on-one tutoring for a family. I use a humanizing approach when working with children and students in ways that honor their humanity, experiences, and knowledge. In addition, I utilize restorative practices when harm arises rather than punitive punishment. I see children as learners and capable humans who are becoming their own. I am caring, responsible, and intentional with the relationships I build.
