At OUAC, I deal with checking out customers, sorting through buys that come in, entering them into our system, pricing out bigger items or toys, tagging clothes and sticking tags on items that need stickers, hanging clothes on our shelves in color order and by short to long sleeve, loading them onto racks, and running those out into aisles for customers, along with backstocking our fall winter items like halloween, thanksgiving, and christmas. Besides the basics of what you learn theres tiny tasks like cleaning the customer bathroom, our break room and bathroom, and vacuuming the store.
At Pops, I had to load popcorn into small, medium, or large bags, or our tins for special occasions, remake the COSS (Coconut oil sea salt) popcorn and fill the machine, sweep up the floors, bin the popcorn made, stock bins on shelves, load buys of popcorn for bigger events, wash popcorn bins, and clean off counters. Although it was a fun job, I did not feel like the way I was being spoken to way appropriate, constantly being screamed at when I ask a question for help, and never having water on hand, only diet cokes (that we weren’t allowed to touch since they were the managers) and bottles of Whiskey or Brandy. I felt it was not a food fit for me and left.
