Volunteer Experience

  • Shadowing Dental Hygienists: Visited two different dental offices and was able to shadow one hygienist at each office for a full day. One was Gentle Care Dentistry and the other was Hillrise Dental in Las Cruces. Watched each patient receive blood pressure, x-rays, periodontal chartings, and oral cleanings.
  • Shadowed a Periodontist: Shadowed a procedure of a patient becoming edentulous to then have and receive dentures. I was able to see the specialist demonstrate techniques in administering local anesthesia.
  • Big Brother Big Sister: Mentored elementary students in teaching them how to excel in academic performance and assisting them through adversities.
  • Blood Drive: Dedicated my time and donated blood to those in need.
  • Helping those in my community: Dedicated a few days into collecting and raising money for members in my community who needed assistance in paying medical bills.
  • Taos Soil and Water Conservation Camp: As a team member in Envirothon, was able to dedicate a week to the Taos Soil and Water Conservation camp for youth and educate them on knowledge I learned previous years as well as serve their needs.
