- Laminate, shape, and bake off high volumes of Viennoiserie
- Operate and manage the pastry section of a kitchen working together with the other chefs
- Decorate and present pastries and baked goods in a tasteful and beautiful way
- Monitor and order ingredients, supplies and equipment
- Meet with customers to discuss custom-made desserts or baked goods for special occasions
- Ensure the bakery section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations
- Identify staffing needs, report to Executive Pastry Chef to help recruit new personnel and train them
- Consulting with the executive chef and other chefs to plan menus
- Executing pastry orders for catered events and accommodating special requests
- Demonstrating skill in baking pastries, desserts, cakes, cookies, sweets, and pies
- Creating enticing confectionery decorations and delicious pastry fillings, as well as keeping abreast of new pastry baking techniques
- Applying classic pastry baking techniques when preparing traditional pastries
- Adding novel, creative, and delicious pastry items to the existing selection.
