  • Serves as clerk to the Fire District, responsible for attending all meetings of the Board of Fire Commissioners and recording all minutes of the proceedings
  • Prepares all mandated reports and ensures compliance to Federal, State and Local Authorities, Insurance, Civil Service, etc.
  • Prepares legal notices (notice of meetings, meeting changes, permissive referendums, budget hearings, election notices, bid notices)
  • Records Management Officer: maintains District files, eradicates unneeded files past the retention window consistent with the LGS-1 schedule, serves as custodian of all books, records, files and papers of the Fire District, including financial records for past years
  • Handles all FOIL requests received
  • Oversees administration of the Service Awards Program, including but not limited to filing all necessary forms with the the administrator, maintaining the correct address list of all participants, providing the Board with a list of participants, mailing out reports to members and other needed administrative duties
  • Administrator of Fire Rescue Systems: documents and enters new inventory, new vehicles, new users and new members/employees into Fire Rescue Systems, maintains records of data to be processed, programs to be run and data used in processing, runs reports to validate data integrity
  • Processes, maintains and reviews all Workers’ Compensation claims and assures that claims are complete
  • Health Benefits Administrator for the Employee Health Insurance Program
