Legal Assistant
Social Security Administration
- As a Court Records Assistant (CRA) my duties consist of but limited to certifying and closing out paper and electronic New Court Cases (NCC) once the Civil Action Assistant (CAA) receives and inputs the primary information for the NCC
- Review supporting information (medical evidence, financial evidence, testimony, etc.) for completeness, accuracy, and compliance within SSA regulation
- Receive and scan court transcripts and create an Electronic Court Administrative Record (ECAR) in EVIEW
- I expedite all mandatory document to the ECAR and check for Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and create a Certification (CERT) page using Microsoft Word, which is added to the ECAR in EVIEW
- After completion of that step I must FINALIZE the ECAR in EVIEW
- Once the CAR is finalized my next step is to Segment and Burn the ECAR to a CD using encryption software, where I will then close out the existing New Court Case and send a copy of the CERT to the required US Attorney Office
- Upload the Electronic Court Administrative Record (ECAR) to the USAfx database
- Provide reports to my superiors.
