Whenever I am asked the question "Do you like what you do for work?" The first thing that comes to mind is not my current 'job'; It's coaching wrestling. I fell in love with the sport when I began wrestling, my sophomore year of high school. My senior year was very difficult for me, I was sick from October 2023 - until April 2024, in which wrestling season takes place November - March. Being sick was not going to stop me from finishing my senior season though, I was the team captain, I was not going to give up on my goals. I'd wrestle at the 138 pound weight class for team competitions only weighing 123 because that was what was best for the team. I had one coach, who really supported me, Jeff Ragan. He once told me that whenever Michelangelo was interviewed about his sculptures he'd say "I always saw the perfect image in the stone, all I did was chip away the imperfections." That has been my coaching philosophy since. After graduating, Coach Ragan asked me to be one of his assistant coaches. What I love most about coaching the sport that I love, is being in a position where I'm able to help others.
