My master’s program is in Biomedical Engineering with a focus on medical device design and development. I have observed 40+ hours in the University of Virginia hospital system (includes surgeries, ICU rotations, outpatient clinics, infusion centers, and more). These experiences in the hospital have given me a better perspective on how both patients and healthcare providers interact with medical devices. My masters project is in the kidney transplant realm with a focus on designing a surgical device to mitigate vascular damage during transplant procedures.
I have much past experience with the research and design side of medical product development and through my internship with Atelerix Life Sciences I have gained valuable knowledge about the commercial and regulatory requirements that come with development.
