Work History

Engineer

EPRI
11.2021 - Current
  • Evaluating the durability and reliability of polymer, porcelain, and glass insulators in real-world conditions, and during manufacturing.
  • Investigating incidents of spontaneous shattering in glass insulators.
  • Analyzing the impact of physical stress and corona discharge on polymer insulators.
  • Exploring the influence of various coatings on conductor emissivity.
  • Studying innovative methods to increase transmission capacity.
  • Investigating how utilities can become more resilient to climate vulnerabilities

Independent Engineering Consultant

Commonwealth Fusion Systems
01.2020 - 2021
  • Estimating the fatigue life of a rotor in the generator of a fusion reactor, by analyzing S-N curves and Goodman diagrams
  • Using computer modeling programs to predict the peak stress and torsional vibrations in the rotor.
  • Analyzed and reviewed generator proposals from potential clients

Lead Research Assistant

National Science Foundation Research
06.2019 - 03.2020
  • Co-author of “Processing Nano-YSZ in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells: The Effects of Sintering Atmosphere on Thermochemical Stability” article published in Electrochemical Society Journal fall 2019
  • Supervised three research students for the Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) research
  • Used TGA, XRD and BET to characterize the specific surface area and chemical structure of sample area
  • Infiltrated electrode and cathodes with Lanthanum Strontium solutions to test catalytic properties
  • Created SOC from slurries and wafers containing specific ratios of YSZ to graphite then sintered in nitrogen to decrease particle sizes thus increasing the active surface area within the cell

Intern

Project Pull Summer Internship, City & County of San Francisco
06.2017
  • Produced and corrected notations on 200+ blueprints of current and past projects
  • Mapped out permits of county zones using Google Earth add-ons for mapping new pipeline locations

Intern

Intern at the Port of San Francisco, Engineering Division
06.2016
  • Shadowed project managers out in the field for renovations of the piers
  • Catalogued building supplies, tools and equipment used for renovating city piers and buildings for future use

Co-founder

Keith Cozy Clothing Company
12.2018 - Current
  • Started a clothing brand with an original logo design along with creating a website for customers to purchase apparel
  • Reached out to wholesale manufacturers for printing and creating materials such as polyester, cotton and plastics
