
I am a 3rd year studying Food Science & Technology with a Culinary Arts sub-plan at Cal Poly Pomona. I am looking to gain new knowledge, experience, and skills in order to provide a benefit to my community.
As the Food Safety Administrative Assistant at Spadra Farms under Don B. Huntley College of Agriculture at Cal Poly Pomona, I oversee the implementation and management of food safety protocols across all farm operations. Some of my responsibilities include drafting and enforcing food safety guidelines, including HACCP-based guidelines for wholesale operations. I also monitor and test water pH, sanitizer chlorine levels, and produce quality to prevent physical, chemical, and biological cross-contamination. I also ensure the field and packing operations follow proper food safety protocols, GMP's, SOP's, GHP's, and QAQC standards. I also conduct routine rounds to assess field safety, document conditions, and manage harvest, packing, and delivery paperwork. I manage produce handling from planting and harvesting to packing and delivery; this includes seed sowing, field preparation, weeding, and order fulfillment. Additionally, I prepare for audits by maintaining documentation to ensure compliance with CCP, FDA, and USDA guidelines, critical limits, corrective actions, and cross-contamination prevention.
I taught kids ages 5 through 18 water safety, proper swim techniques, skills, teamwork, and communication in a summer swim league for about 7 years.
