I spend a good portion of my free time on art and have a strong creative side as well.

  • Enrolled in an online course called "Medicine as a Career Choice: Thinking Like a Doctor" that was created by a physician/professor at Columbia University.
  • Live, interactive course which investigates how different types of physicians think within their discipline and what it means to be a doctor in today’s society. The course has homework that is expected to be completed between class sessions. Topics include :
  • Logic and reasoning
  • Evidence-based medicine
  • Human psychology and its influence
  • The crossroads of media, myth, and medicine

Biomedical Academy, Pleasant Grove High School

  • This academy is offered to students who attend my high school and are interested in the medical field. This is a year- long graded course, five hours per week.
  • Curriculum during the course includes dissections, basic lab techniques, solving real-world medical cases, prevention/diagnosis/treatment of disease.
  • The academy offers after-school activities through various committees led by students. I have participated in the Community Service Committee and the Recruitment Committee. Community service included helping with school wide events, organizing donations for Blue Star Moms, and creating cards for Cards for Hospitalized Kids. The Recruitment Committee is involved in creating and presenting presentations for 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students to promote the academy and careers in medicine.
