I have acted a lead teacher in a 3 year old class since September of 2022. In this capacity I have designed lessons plans, taught the children and prioritized their safety. Though I have worked with some co-teachers, I have often had to maintain the classroom on my own.
I believe in mostly teaching through play. I think almost anything you do with children from center/indoor play to lunch to outdoor play can be used in learning.
I believe in positive reinforcement, guidance and redirection for keeping order in the classroom. I believe that my job as a teacher goes beyond academics. I want to foster healthy attitudes, encourage free thought and building confidence as much as I can within state regulations and center guidelines.
In my spare time I enjoy reading and writing. I also enjoy on working on arts and crafts (trying to improve my skills for things I do in the classroom)
From 2015-2020 I worked as a volunteer with the PTO for David L Rainer Elementary School in Kingsland Ga. I was co-leader of the PTO from 2018-2020. In my time as a member and leader of PTO I organized events like our year Fall Festival, Santa Shop and Valentines Grams. I also organized a group of volunteers who made and sold popcorn at the school every week.
From 2015-2020 I worked as a volunteer in classrooms at David L Rainer Elementary School in Kingsland Ga. I volunteered in Kindergarten and First grade classes mostly. I worked with kids on reading, sight words and writing.
From 2018-2022 I volunteered with my daughters girl scout troop in a leadership role. In this role I planned and executed activities for the troop, supervised meetings and trips. My activities focused a lot on teaching independence, empowerment, confidence and hard work.
