Level III, 13 beds, EPIC charting system

• Attend deliveries, stabilization of newborn and performed vital signs checks and administered vaccinations to infants following birth until transfer to mother-baby.
• Perform Charge Nurse responsibilities

Level IV, 60 bed, Epic Charting System

• Enhanced patient care by providing specialized neonatal nursing services to premature and critically ill infants as early as 22 weeks.
• Manage central lines, calculate fluids/medications, care for chest tubes, and tracheostomy patients. Provide gastrostomy tube and ileostomy care.

Level III, 86 bed, Epic Charting System

• Care for infants in a Level II/III setting while following unit procedures and implementing new changes made on unit accurately and appropriately.
• Manage care of high acuity patients, including theraputic hypothermia.
• Care for infants on respiratory support including HFOV, SIMV, SIPPV, CPAP, and HFNC
• Perform ileostomy and gastrostomy tube care
• Assist with arterial blood draws

Level III, 46 bed, Epic Charting System

• Deliver developmentally supportive care to 22-week premature neonates to full term in a Level III setting
• Perform day-to-day routine care to include thorough head to toe assessments, vital signs, feedings, hygiene, lab draws and line changes
• Administer and calculate medications, including blood administration
• Attend high risk deliveries, assist with intubation and umbilical line placement
• Manage UAC, UVC, and PICC lines
• Maintain composure and efficiency during rapid response/emergency codes
• Work closely with Respiratory Therapists to manage all levels of respiratory support including HFOV, conventional ventilator, NIMV, INO, CPAP, heated nasal canula, and wall O2 nasal canula
• Utilize valuable communication skills to deliver information to family members regarding patient treatment and care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to create, implement and adapt individualized care plans
• Trained new staff and completed some transport training

· Thoroughly assess and care for patients with pre-term labor, high-risk pregnancies, and full-term laboring patients

· Communicate with physicians, coworkers, and patients in order to provide optimal care

· Perform immediate post-delivery care of mother and infant, including assessment of neonate

· Plan and manage care of patient in operating room for scheduled and emergency cesarean sections, postpartum hemorrhages, and emergency hysterectomies

· Operate and interpret readings from fetal monitoring equipment and make appropriate interventions
