Installation & Construction
- Install ground grids and ensure proper electrical grounding of all substation components.
- Run and install conduit (EMT, rigid, PVC, etc.) for control wiring and power distribution.
- Set steel structures (e.g., bus supports, equipment stands) according to layout and drawings.
- Install electrical jumpers and buses to connect transformers, switches, and breakers per design specifications.
Equipment Operation
- Safely and efficiently operate construction and lifting equipment, including:
- Skytrack (telehandler/forklift)
- Man lift (aerial lift or boom lift)
- Skid steer
- Track hoe (excavator)
- Front-end loader
Technical Skills
- Assist in layout and physical arrangement of components based on blueprint
- Read and interpret electrical prints and construction drawings (approximately 70% proficiency)
Communication
- Work and communicate effectively in a bilingual (Spanglish) environment with team members, contractors, and supervisors.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow strict job site and electrical safety protocols.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA 30 safety standards. (OSHA 30 certified)
- Participate in safety meetings, tool-box talks, and hazard assessments
