- Worked with Dr. Patrick Sweeney to localize shRNA virus to specifically target the Melanocortin 3 receptor (MC3R) in the Ventromedial Hypothalamus (VMH) region in the brain
- Contributed to the project through genotyping animals of interest, aiding in Stereotaxic Adeno-Associated Virus injection, collecting feeding and body weight assays, maintaining data of NMR body composition, performing brain perfusions and cryosectioning, and visualizing brain slice immunohistochemistry stains
- Won the Blue Ribbon Award for best undergraduate research by constructing and presenting an abstract and data at the University of Michigan Undergraduate Research Program
- Developed with Dr. Danielle Porter an independent study project that contributed to the overall aim of identifying the role of the Melanocortin-3 Receptor (MC3R) in the regulation of the HPG axis in order to help contribute to curing Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
- Aimed to identify the effect of administering dihydrotestosterone (DHT) prenatally on fat mass and lean mass in male MC3R knockout (KO) mice
- Addressed and evaluated the effect of Prenatally Androginzed (PNA) model on
- MC3R testosterone levels, and understand the effect of PNA on body composition in male MC3RKO compared to Wild Type.
