I have recently graduated with a Bachelor of Computer Engineering, and at the moment, I am nearing an end of my Master of Cybersecurity Operations at Webster University. Working at Cyber Octet I had an actual experience of the type of work that SOC analysts perform on a daily basis, keeping track of security events, triage incidents, threat hunting, and response, before things go out of control. I have been able to use SIEM tools and have also configured firewalls and IDS and even automated monitoring processes that would otherwise take a lot of time using Python. I also contributed to reducing unauthorized access threats by a third by tightening the Active Directory controls. I am currently seeking a position as a SOC Analyst in which I would be able to apply these skills to a real security operations setting and continue to develop thereof.
