Longitudinal hospital pharmacy internship at BayCare Hospital. The program provides progressive training in pharmacy operations, beginning with pharmacy technician responsibilities and advancing to pharmacist shadowing, clinical exposure, and participation in patient care activities to develop a comprehensive understanding of hospital pharmacy practice.

• Learning the foundations of specialty pharmacy and practicing different aspects in it from pharmacy technician work to shadowing pharmacists

• Performed duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions. Assisted pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
• I reported any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhered to Company policies and procedures concerning pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
• I was responsible and accountable for registering all related sales on the cash register.
• I handled telephone calls that do not require the attention of the pharmacist.
• I processed manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and performed other clerical duties, as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
• I assisted and supported the Pharmacy Department in inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
• I assisted with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies and in clean, neat, and orderly condition and appearance.
