Alaina Stukel

Versatile music educator, with background in not only choir settings, but elementary general music. Skilled in vocal technique and creating a welcoming classroom environment that fosters not only musical skill, but culturally responsive teaching. Motivated to creating a safe space where students can have fun and also broaden musical knowledge.

• I was a Teaching Assistant for the University Treble Chorus in fall 2024 semester.
• I was the Alto Co section leader of Women's Glee Club for three semesters, as well as the Social chair on the Women's Glee executive board for one semester.
• I am a member of the music service fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota, and have held positions in this fraternity as President, Vice President of Membership, editor, and music chair during my time in this origination.
• I took many theatre classes during my time at the University of Illinois, and have worked as a stage crew member as well as learned the proper musical theatre singing technique.

• I was involved with the University of Illinois Black Chorus, where I was given opportunities to sing on television, and to sing with orchestral accompaniment, as well as learn alongside Ollie Watts Davis on the culture of Black American music.
• During my involvement in Women's Glee Club, I was able to sing many Cantatas with orchestral accompaniment, full band accompaniment, and to receive instruction by Andrea Solya.
• During my time as various leadership roles in the University, I have become skilled in effective recruitment, designing merchandise, running social medias, and providing outreach for these organizations.
• I received the opportunity to do an independent study under Donna Gallo where I went to University Primary Preschool and taught music to Preschoolers while receiving feedback, tips, and tricks that helped me become better developed in my elementary education skill, and gave prior teaching experience to student teaching.
