This was one unique nuclear power plant. Was given an easy job duty. All I was appointed to do was take material needed inside the units. We were a 5 man crew and the job was quite simple.
At this job location, I had a 6 men crew and we were working with a material called Pin Lock. This job was sort of a non- stop going routine. You would nish one job and they would take us do another one. It was a great experience afterall and learn many new things.
At this job it was kind of a hard and unsafe work place due to the fact that it was always snowing. We would have to spill salt on the material and on the scaffold decks to prevent slip & trips. Also, I learned many things on how to work with material.
This was my first nuclear power plant, everything was way different from refinery. Many different rules & a whole different environment. Work was more calm & based on safety. I learned how to use safway material and got to be the last crew to leave on a good note.
On this job site, It was more of a calm & safe environment. Many safety personal around the units looking out for hazards we sometimes couldn’t see. It was a great job but was laid off due to covid.
At this job I was a tower mechanic. In the boilermaking industry. Learned how to remove packing and also installing it. Hos to remove trays and putting the new ones back. Learned many new things since this was something new I was doing.
This job I learnex how to work safe with trigger lock material. It was to me a very dangerous material to work with but got the handle of it and learned a safe way to perform the task. Scaffold we build with this material were capable of providing a safe deck for other contractors.
Worked around live machinery and ongoing operations to complete scaffolding projects on-time and under budget.
