  • Serving as the Facility Security Manager. Answer all questions and conduct monthly PowerPoint trainings for all staff/students in my assigned Facilities. Inspect the condition of locks, window bars, grills, doors, and gates at the correctional facility to ensure security and help prevent escapes. Monitor and review CCTV footage to investigate any suspicious activity and/or incidents that occurred throughout the facility. Conduct counting procedures to ensure every prisoner is alive and present. Monitor conduct of Federal and State Offenders in the housing unit, or during work or recreational activities, according to established policies, federal regulations, and procedures to prevent escape or violence. Search prisoners, vehicles and conduct shakedowns of cells for valuables and contraband, such as weapons or drugs. Use handcuffs and physical force to maintain discipline and order among prisoners. Inspect mail for contraband. Process or book convicted individuals into prison. Settle disputes between inmates. Conduct fire, safety, and sanitation inspections. Supervise and coordinate work of other correctional officers. Enforce any and all federal and local laws to ensure the safety of all inmates and staff. Conduct interviews of all inmates upon entering the facility and after any incidents, investigate any possible criminal activity that may have occurred in the facility and transport inmates to and from other facilities.
