I, Alana White am interested in the position: Junior Clerk of Programs at Essex County Sheriffs Department. I have accrued almost seven years of experience working in the behavioral health field. At this current stage in my life I am looking for a less patient centered position as I pursue my masters degree in social work. My interest in this position is the difference in field of interest (administrative) rather than clinical/ case management while still within a law enforcement agency. This supports my professional and educational goals of continuing to work alongside or within the justice system.
My first role that included administrative duties was in 2018. I acted as a student admissions ambassador at Salem State University. In this role, I presented information about the university to groups of families and prospective students. I also provided tours, assisted with outreach calls to prospective students, data entry, and filing/organizational needs within the office.
Once I entered the field of behavioral health in 2020, I quickly found that documentation, organization, and time management are essential. My proficiency in writing, organization, time management, and navigation of microsoft office tools is rooted from my years of experience of navigating new systems and expectations from managerial staff.
I am also experienced in Essex County Sheriff Department's professional expectations for staff and the technology system that is used to track data (OMS) from prior employment.
