● On-site administrative Director for 129-bed Psychiatric Hospital consisting of 3 inpatient units and 6 transitional living houses during evenings, nights and holidays.

● Plans, determines, implements and evaluates goals and objectives for area of responsibility within the framework of the Department of Nursing, in collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer.

● Coordinates medical and psychiatric emergencies. Assumes role of Scene leader

● Collaborates with Department Heads to plan, problem-solve, implement and evaluate programs and decisions which affect the delivery of patient care as delegated by the Chief Nursing Officer. Evaluates the quality of effectiveness of the nursing practice and makes recommendations for changes

● Charge Nurse of 18-bed adult inpatient psychiatric acute care unit

● Plan, assign, and review work of nursing staff and mental health technicians

● Administration and monitoring of psychotropic medications

● Assessing and charting on patient’s treatment status using detailed SOAPE notes utilizing EMR software

● Identifying risk factors for each patient and creating individual treatment plans

● Admitting and orienting new patients to the unit and discharging patients with comprehensive discharge plan

● Charge nurse for adolescent unit in an acute inpatient psychiatric hospital

● Member of a multidisciplinary team; responsibilities include the promotion of professional practice and a patient centered care approach

● Assessing and documenting patients mental and physical health needs, as well as, reporting any changes to MD

● Distributing and monitoring patients on psychotropic medication

● Treated clients with moderate to severe substance abuse disorders and mental health disorders

● Utilized the Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS) and Clinical Institute Withdrawal for Alcohol (CIWA)scale

● Dispensed ordered dose of Methadone to clients daily using EMR software

● Collaborated with treatment team regarding individual client statuses in recovery and creating care plans as a team approach with RN, Physician, and Substance Abuse Counselors

● Responsible for the care of residents on the rehabilitation unit

● Perform/administer standard nursing treatments and/or medications & observes resident for desired or unwanted effects; monitored & documented vitals, treatments administered, & residents’ responses

● Prepare, organize, oversee, monitor, & evaluate delivery of care of resident CNA assignments & activities, considering the category of needs & competency of personnel
