As the Superintendent for this project, I was to schedule material/equipment deliveries, manage and delegate the installation of multiple landscape materials, such as water mainline, lateral lines, irrigation valves, and tree planting. In addition, I was prioritizing daily work assignments and schedules.

Project Write up for Albert Garcia (Construction Superintendent):
My Superintendent role for this project was providing construction management services to Access Pacific Inc. for
the construction of the federally funded 17th Street SMC Expo Bike Path Connection and Roadway
Rehabilitation Project, which provided pedestrians and bicyclists an improved and safer corridor to
connect to parks, transit, and areas within the neighborhood. Services included project management,
construction management, oversight services, construction schedule Planning, SWPPP implementation, creating change orders, site safety, and subcontractor coordination. The project included the construction of over 1 mile of a separated protected bike
path and enhanced pedestrian walkways utilizing concrete medians, intersection curb extension, traffic
circles, and pedestrian lighting. The project also included a complete asphalt roadway mill and overlay,
restriping, signage, storm drain improvements, landscaping, and new traffic signals at seven intersections.
The project required significant coordination to ensure a smooth and safe process.

As Superintendent, my duty was to ensure projects were completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with local building codes and laws. The 4th Street project improves accessibility and provides a safer corridor for pedestrians and bicyclists to connect across the I-10 Freeway and 4th Street Bridge Interchange to the shopping district, parks, and City buildings such as City Hall. Superintendent services include construction management and oversight, Subcontractor coordination, construction schedule planning, SWPPP implementation, and writing change orders. 4th Street consisted of reconstructing curb ramps and repaving the 4th Street Bridge and I-10 Interchange Ramps. The project also includes 1000’ of bridge fence installation, tree and irrigation installations, new pedestrian and street lighting, traffic signal modifications, and restriping. This project required significant coordination with Caltrans to ensure we were within their safety guidelines.
