"Proclamation"
Vocational Leadership Career Day for People with Disabilities (Cumberland County Community)
The Vocational Leadership Career Day for People with Disabilities (VLCD) is a proclamation I created in 2022. It was adopted by the city of Fayetteville, NC, and signed by former County Commissioner Charles Evans. The proclamation aims to create job opportunities for people with disabilities, including adults and adolescents, by linking them to resources such as employment, health services, special events, and human resources. Further information is available on "Voices of Change," aired by Spectrum News on January 10, 2022.

My nonprofit organization is dedicated to extending our efforts beyond the school and into the community, connecting resources with underserved populations. We also provide ongoing opportunities to assist our communities, parents, individuals with disabilities, families, and the general population seeking help with job applications and services. This facilitates connections that can improve their unique personal situations. Fireseeds also identifies other organizations and corporations (such as fraternities, sororities, businesses, churches, food companies, transportation venues, etc.) that share our purpose and can serve as additional resources for their specific needs.
"Sandra Sign Language Club"
The Sandra Sign Language Club, a pioneering club established at Pine Forest High School by Alda Midgette, was another initiative to integrate the general population with the special needs community. It enhanced communication channels to foster a cohesive multicultural environment among diverse groups. As the first sign language club in the history of Pine Forest High School, it hosted several deaf plays that showcased the talents of deaf students. The club also engaged with the community to share experiences and communicate in sign language, allowing individuals to share their culture. The Sandra Sign Language Club identified numerous resources beneficial for both the general and special needs populations.
"Cultural Arts" at the Sandra Sign Language Club
The phenomenal play "Who Am I?" written by Alda Midgette was not only a cultural arts exhibit featuring artifacts but also showcased artistic expressions by the special needs community.
