I believe I have a lot to offer the company in the position of production manager. In my time as department manager, I have gained the knowledge of parts making and how product flows through the plant. I feel that my previous experiences, along with knowledge gained at Pella, set me up for success on the assembly side as well. I am motivated to drive projects and improvements as I am continually looking for a better way. Being a level headed, critical thinker, I am able to take a step back and look at the bigger picture from a more realistic and technical approach. This gives me a unique perspective, identifying any possible improvements, or any coaching needed. Should the situation arise, I would be able to initiate any crucial conversation that needs to happen.
So far in my time with Pella, I have been the first shift department manager over our wood partsmakingbusiness. I am responsible for not only the operations and production of wood parts for our casement and double hung businesses, but I am also responsible for a team of around 50 members. Operations include managing to a budget by monitoring and adjusting labor and staffing levels based upon customer demand and output, ensuring good quality parts are made and delivered on time - in full, setting improvement goals and driving progress towards those goals, and collaborating with other department managers in the plant to better serve them and improve processes plant wide. I am also responsible for the management and development of my team members. This includes certifications, coaching, evaluations, and day to day interactions.
During my employment with Hurricane Motorsports, I was responsible for managing production, inventory control, product development, continuous improvement, sales, marketing, and multiple other aspects of the business. I had a dedicate team as well that I worked to develop and grow in their roles. Some of my major accomplishments included substantially increasing sales leading to increased production rates. I also worked to develop the company by heading expansion efforts from a 2,000 square foot facility to over 20,000 - expanding the product line and numerous other offerings.
