Heart and Vascular Unit, Medical City Denton - 300 Hours (Fall semester hours upcoming)

• Provided comprehensive care for up to 2 patients
• Assisted in placing Foley catheters, nasogastric tubes, managed IV pumps and medications, started IVs, obtained and recorded intake and output, obtained vital signs, performed wound care, bladder scans, removing PICC lines and more.
• Managed patient care and helped coordinate patient plan of care with clinical coaching nurse
• Provided emotional support and patient education to patient and caregiver prior to procedures.

Clinical Simulation Lab, TTUHSC - 102 Hours (Fall semester hours upcoming)

• Clinical skills lab that taught how to safely give medications and perform focused assessments of all body systems
• Taught relevant nursing skills such as tracheostomy suctioning, ostomy care, IV insertion, NG tube placement, wound care and irrigation, Stop the Bleed, catheter care, suture and staple removal, and much more.
• Includes further specialty teaching in mental health, perinatal care, and community and public health
