I became a rural carrier after being a clerk and quickly developed a positive relationship with my peers and coworkers. After seeing how both sides of the office operate i was able to step up and be the right hand man for my prior supervisor and was very dependable on overcoming difficult task. As a RCA i worked well with my coworkers and new employees and was able to train multiple new employees how to successfully perform the job. Working as a mail carrier i serviced all 3 zipcodes at our office and became very familiar with the East Valley. I worked as a RCA for about a year and made PTF before becoming a regular and servicing my own route.
Job duties included distributing and scanning incoming and outgoing mail/parcels, preparing mail for carriers, filling P.O. boxes, and assisting other employees when needed. During this temporary position i started to understand the basic knowledge of how our delivery operations function and the importance of accuracy/efficiency. I worked in the OGP department which was a fast-paced environment where communication and attention to detail was very important. I was often left in charge of the deliveries section and making sure we were meeting precise delivery time while striving to receive positive reviews from our customers. Time management was essential in rotating the next hours deliveries and meeting standards.
