Aircraft Worker

• Complete inventory, inspect, maintain, modify, and repair maintenance anomalies on aircraft weapons systems.

• Execute tests and perform daily maintenance on alternate mission equipment (AME) such as aircraft pylons, missile launchers, bomb racks, guns, and gun mounts.

• Repaired all F-15 and F-16 off-equipment by performing bench operational checks with tester to troubleshoot aircraft armament systems malfunctions.

• Follow electrical drawings, schematics, safety procedures, military specifications, and technical orders (TO) to accomplish assigned tasks.

• Ensure proper protective equipment usage while adhering to all maintenance policies and safety procedures.

• Utilize technical data to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, examine for visual defects and verify the correct removal and installation of parts.

Aircraft Armament Systems Technician

Maintenance:

• Maintains munition suspension equipment and completes inspections on and off aircraft armament systems equipment. Visually examines weapons system equipment for defects and proper installation; replaces or repairs defective parts as needed. Leads the installation or removal of pylons, adapters, launchers, and racks. Preforms follow-on installation checks as required.

• Operates and maintains 198 and 199 testers, which includes cable and tester set up as well as conducting tests in cockpit. Experience using these testers for B-61 checks, 1760 checks, installation checks, and various weapons systems checks. Uses the Fault codes from 198 testers to troubleshoot modified aircraft with the use of schematics and wiring diagrams. Experience repairing damaged wires and repining connectors.

• Extensive knowledge of IMDS to document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and to track AME. Experience receiving parts from supply and using TO and IMDS to look up and order parts for on and off aircraft weapons equipment.

• In-depth knowledge and use of Technical Orders for daily maintenance on aircraft such as safe for maintenance, aircraft armament systems equipment installation and removal, software reprograming, and inspections on weapons systems equipment. Experience using TOs to use schematics and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot, and to use the illustrated parts breakdown (IPB) to look up equipment part numbers.

Loading:

  • Executes Air to Air and Air to Ground loading.
  • Certified to load chaff and flare, AIM 9s, AIM 120, 20mm gun, B-61, and varioustypes of bombs. Experience loading live munitions such as AIM 9s and SDBs along with new munitions like SDB II and AIM 9X block II. Assisted in loading the first extended range AGM 158, Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM-ER) cruise missile. Checklist certified to arm and de-arm jets, as well as load chaff/flare and 20 mm guns.
  • Excels in loading with a 98% pass rate from load barn with 112 evaluation passes out of 114 since January 2016. These include flight line evaluations, and monthly loading assessment.
  • Responsible for preparing the launcher or rack to be loaded on while assisting the one and three man by guiding the munition to the station, the locking it into place
