I've currently been working for the Florence Project for almost 2 years , starting as an Administrative Assistant for Operations and currently as a Legal Administrative Assistant for the Children's Program. Legal Administrative Assistant - Children' Program

  • Manage general clerical needs such as file locations, scanning sheets and faxing documents.
  • Point person for accurate and timely data entry and data management for Legal Server and Vera database. Leads the review of the data at key points during the month.
  • Primarily responsible for finalizing and completing legal filings with the Immigration Court, Board of Immigration Appeals, and USCIS, in compliance with governing practice manual and local rules.
  • Responsible for the timely processing of outgoing mail for the team.
  • Responsible for physically filing documents received (through mail, service in court, or client drop off, etc.) into client folders as appropriate. Responsible for file creation; file management; and scanning and storage on the electronic files, Legal Server, and in the hard copy file.
  • File maintenance through Legal Server, FIRRP’s remote server, and paper files.
  • Provide large-scale print, mailing, and filing assistance to Children’s Program legal staff to ensure such jobs are completed and executed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare cases for closing and/or transfer.
  • Ensure uniformity between the hard copy file, electronic file, and Legal
  • Maintained organized office and case-specific paper and digital files for easy tracking and retrieval.
  • Kept office efficient and organized by managing tasks such as supply restocking and general upkeep without oversight.
