My job role within Becton Dickenson (otherwise known as BD) mainly dealt with disassembly of their medical equipment shipped back to the company and prepare it for recycling once properly disassembled.

The machines I would mainly work with were the Pyxis MedStation (and its different variations), Pyxis Anesthesia Station ES and the Pyxis Supply Cabinet (and its variations).

Once disassembled, I'd be in charge of observing the quality of the parts, ensuring that no damage was done to them before recycling.

To take apart these machines mentioned above, it requires mecanical aptitude and basic tool handling skills. Drills, screwdivers, bolt cutters, wrenches, pallet jacks (Electric and manual), crowbars and sledgehammer are tools that I often would work with.

My role also dealt with unloading and loading of freight and handling material within the warehouse.

My position was in a fast paced, quickly changing environment with different demands at different times, as you would have to be required to constantly change roles throughout the warehouse to meet the constant supply of packages that had to be sorted throughout the warehouse. My role within the warehouse, dealt mainly with:

• Prepared orders for shipment by picking, packing, and labeling merchandise.
• Manually or mechanically loaded and unloaded materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles
• Checked packages and merchandise for damage and notified vendors.
• Inspected incoming and outgoing shipments to verify accuracy and prevent errors.
• Loaded, unloaded, and moved material to and from storage and production areas.
• Operated pallet jacks and material moving equipment to receive and transport items from various warehouse locations.
• Performed general housekeeping and cleaning tasks.
• Trained and supervised new employees to apply best practices and comply with health and safety procedures and regulations.
• Used hand-held devices and computers to record and monitor inventory levels and completed audits to uncover and address inaccuracies.
• Consistently lifted materials weighing as much as 60-70 pounds.
• Inspected work areas for cleanliness and obstacles and removed cartons and boxes to keep work areas organized and hazard-free.

It is also important to mention that, I would work all the time with a wide array of RF scanners, from Zebra Ring Scanners to Avery Dennison Monarch scanners.

I've also worked with manual Pallet Jacks and Electric Pallet Jacks extensively.
