Journeyman Electrician

Prism Electric
05.2021 - 04.2022

I joined Prism after things got real slow at my brother"s company. I had friend working at the Moody Center and he got me on the distribution crew. I was running conduits from the main electrical room to the smaller electrical rooms throughout the building. I ran four inch rigid conduit for the main service conductors. I was put in charge of six guys and we set up supports based off the drawings, ran conduit, installed junction boxes, and then took measurements for the wire we pulled. I became quite proficient with the table bender bending up to three inch EMT. I was on the job until the very end. I left the company because my brother landed some big jobs and asked for my help.

Journeyman Electrician

David Electric LLC
09.2020 - 05.2021

I started working for my brother to help him get his company started. We were mostly doing residential work when we started. I was doing troubleshooting almost every day. We would work to get rental houses up to code standards. The work was dirty but i learned a lot about code requirements. I also worked on several home additions where we had to upgrade the service and rough in the addition. I had to coordinate with all the other trades to make sure the job was completed within the time and budget we were given.

Journeyman Electrician

Tumlinson Electric

  • Interpreted electrical codes and diagrams to complete electrical repair and installation tasks.
  • Supervised electrical installations and repairs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Conducted on-site inspections to identify issues, implementing effective solutions to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • I worked at the AISD building which was more of a remodel than a new building. When I arrived I was demoing old work so we had to be very careful because the building was still being occupied. Once we got the go ahead to start the new rough in I was appointed to run the third floor with eight helpers. This was the first time I was a lead man and responsible for meeting deadlines for an entire floor, it was challenging but we always did well. Once this project was winding down I was sent to a school in Circle C Ranch. There I was put in charge of an entire wing of the project. With the mentoring of my foreman I was able to see this project to the end. I learned a great deal about what it takes to be a good lead man. I kept hours on the tasks my guys would work on and made daily reports. I also learned the importance of good communication skills among our group.
