The first thing I notice in the job is if I'm working with people or doing the job myself, once I get confirmation from my boss about that then I or other coworkers first see the area of the job site so we can see where we can hook up power, throw out garbage, and find water the job day, then we see a blueprint to see what part of the building we are working at. Then we check in with the boss of the building to see what type of floor plan they want for the day. There are days when we are going to demo the floor, such as ceramic tile or carpet; on those days, I just take out the base of the rooms, then we start demoing the middle of the room to the far end of the room, and then I start to demo one side of the room at a time to efficiently finish the room. Then, at the end of that job, we made sure we demoed all the rooms we needed to demo and made sure we threw out the debris into the dumpster. The next job is to usually grind the floor with a motabo brand hand grinder for the edges around the room, and if we are lucky,y we can use a larger grinder to grind the area of the room. If it's a small job, most of the time we use the hand grinder. The steps to grinding are either leveling the edges around the room to the same level as the area of the room, getting to a certain grade of floor,or sometimes removing all the glue from the floor. The grinder uses 2 types of blades. 80% of the time, we use a blade that has arrow-shaped pieces under the blade. But if you're on a hard floor like glue or sometimes cement, then you use the PVC blade, which is the best way to grind the floor fastest. I always use a vacuum while grinding because when grinding, the silica smoke goes in the air and is very toxic to inhale for the lungs,s which will make your lungs harden. That's why I use a respirator while working. Once the grinding job is done, we vacuum the area because there is dust all over the floor from grinding. Once we vacuum, we see if there are any cracks to patch. If there are cracks, then I get to talk with the boss to see what type of material we are using to finish the job.If it's epoxy VS then I use a little silica and epoxy to mix up some patch material to trowel the patches in.If it's cement, then omit the pronoun. Mix the feather finish material with water to make some patch material.al. Once we are done patching, I skim that patch area with a hand grinder to level the floor, and finally, we start mixing the material to lay out the finished floor. If it’s cement we mix a couple bags of cement leveler and put a little bit of water at a time so the material comes out wellIf it's epoxy then we just mix a "A" bucket with a "B" bucket to get the right bucket to llay out the floor.ay out the floor.
