This was a freelance writing gig that turned full-time. The client in question was running a website focused on covering gaming topics and they've hired me numerous times.
After a few articles I wrote for them, they asked me to join them part-time, which quickly became full-time, and then I found myself managing a team of writers, editing, and basically running everything content-related myself.
I started freelancing in high-school via various platforms available at the time. I've always wanted to be a writer, so I started off applying to writing gigs. However, SEO quickly caught my eye as it was very much in demand and less people were applying for those jobs compared to writing.
So, I learned what I could from online courses, some more from trial and error, and even more from some of my clients which were actual SEO professionals looking for an assistant.
As for writing, I believe I was good at it naturally but have only refined my craft over the years.
