Work History

Cardiac Sonographer

SCRIPPS CLINIC/ MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
San Diego, California
02.2019 - Current
  • Participated in continuing education courses to stay current on industry advancements and best practices. Maintained 25+ CME credits per year for past 3 years.
  • Sonographer Mentor - Providing mentoring, guidance, education, performing regular QA assessments on 11 sonographers underneath me.
  • Trained on ICE, helping interventionalists navigate throughout the heart during procedural cases.
  • Led and collaborated on projects with echo labs educator and cardiologists. These included developing protocols and equipment optimization, contributing significantly to our lab. Updated multiple lab protocols, created new educational and instructional documents such as: Cazmyos Bike Stress echo protocol, Impella and Mechanical Assist Device protocol, 3D LV and LA volume and Mitral valve quantification on Philips Epiq. Additionally, I independently created guides on performing 3D full volume and left ventricle quantification for GE ultrasound machine. VExUS (venous excess ultrasound) imaging guide.
  • Represented sonographers of La Jolla/Memorial campus during RIE (Rapid Improvement Project) process, a collabrotive process spanning nurses, doctors, and administrative staff, focused on pinpointing specific areas from the moment an echo was ordered until it was finalized by a cardiologist. Looked for ways to improve processes, with the ultimate goal of enhancing patient discharge times. Leadership saw me as a perfect addition to this RIE group because I brought key insights from a sonographer’s perspective. Through this RIE process we shortened the lab's throughput times, from when an echo is ordered till finalized, by 9 hours.
  • Responsible for 3D LV competency for Philips and GE across all sites with 60+ sonographers, developed educational documents and provided detailed and personalized feedback on many those sonographer's echocardiograms to bring them up to competency.
  • Actively part of 4 different research trials: V-wave, Encircle, Triluminate and Clasp ll.
  • Neonatal Echo- Performed neonatal echocardiograms with precision and care. Trained multiple adult sonographers to successfully transition into neonatal scanning, enhancing team capabilities and patient care.
