"Petty Officer Chacon demonstrated exceptional leadership of 32 sailors and Marines during eight patrols deployed in the Seventh Fleet area of responsibility. He safely executed more than 1,150 fueling evolutions with the transfer of 220,000 gallons of JP-5 in support of aviation and amphibious operations. Additionally, he trained and qualified eight personnel in flight deck and below deck fueling procedures, ensuring 100 percent aviation readiness. His training in aircraft refueling and firefighting procedures directly resulted in a 96 percent grade during MOB-A assessment."
