Summary

I grew up as the youngest brother of three boys, which may explain a lot about me. My family was always active whether that be working at rental properties, training for bike marathons, or spending our weekends camping and exploring nature. I have worked in multiple industries throughout my younger years which has given me have a wide array of knowledge and skills. Most recently, I was able to work my way up to become the GM of Flight Deck Tap and Grill. Started as a server and was promoted to GM within 6 months. Spent multiple years working sixty and seventy hours a week in that position, with that time and knowledge learned, I was able to keep the business open during covid, and grew it post-covid from five hundred thousand dollars in sales to a million dollars in sales yearly. Learned to excell in operational efficiency and staff development. Throughout my professional life, I've been lucky to build many relationships within multiple industries, many of which I have grown into strong friendships that still remain. In total, I know that the experiences and knowledge I've gained from my childhood and throughout my personal and professional life have taught me many skills that will make me be a positive addition and reliable team member.

Work History

General Manager

Flight Deck Tap and Grill

  • Fulfilled the full scope of general manager duties within a restaurant & bar with a staff of around 20 employees. Along with running the restaurant and bar, I was in charge of a convenient store connected to the restaurant. Using that space, I built out a dart room to help maximize the profits within that space. I was able to use that dart room and my relationships to bring in Terrance "Bud" Crawford and his dart teams to use every week as their home bar.
  • Created and implemented all daily/weekly/monthly operational duties and checklists for employees. Completed the ordering for bar and restaurant. Oversaw all daily operations; food service, cleaning duties, opening and closing duties, bills, daily money count, inventory spreadsheets, and scheduling for staff.
  • Interviewed and hired/built a staff to effectively run a business and focus on employee loyalty while making sure to deliver the top service, product, and create an atmosphere that builds customer loyalty.
  • Managed daily/monthly/yearly costs; labor, food, soda, beer, alcohol, rent, insurance, maintenance, etc. Maximized profit while keeping quality, efficiency, and service as the focus.
  • Entered and completed P&L reports for weekly meetings, along with a monthly and yearly report for accounting and ownership
  • Used my history and knowledge of systems: HVAC, plumbing, electrical to save money and time when issues arise and help keep service/restaurant running at all times.
  • Built, grew, and maintained numerous relationships within Creighton University Colleges. Maintained sponsorships within Creighton Athletics and facilitated multiple fundraising and catering events to help grow local support.
  • Worked with United Way for the Midlands, Heart Ministries, local schools and neighborhood associations to build relationships within the community.
