Started at burfords tree in 02/2022
Hired in as a forman on a production crew.
After about 6 months transfers to time and materials. I also do most major hazard/danger trees or trees that need rope work or rigging and currently transfered back to production
I started my career in 2015 as a groundsman on a chip crew learning the basics of the job, including job site set up, sign placement, cone placement, use of a chipper and safety standards and maintenance of the equipment.
Early 2016 I got my med card and went through the company DMP program and took over as driver and lead on the chip truck.
Late 2016 I moved up to learning to operate the bucket truck how to set it up for safe operation and and was taught how to fly the boom while pulling hangers below the communication line.
For the next 6 months I was on the formans truck learning about minimum approach distance, power line builds, safe equipment use, proper ways to trim over hang and behind the lines, rope set up and knots for tree work, and writing up a proper job briefing. On July 11 2017 I was given the opportunity to work on a danger tree that was scheduled as a removal my forman, general forman and district manager were staged down the road not known by me it was my non official forman test, to see if I could put into practice what I had learned up to that point .After completing the tree I was told it was a test and that I had a paper test to do to move up to a 6 man forman and take over a crew. From there I ran a 6 man crew 2 bucket trucks and a chip truck. Until I got the opportunity to take over a spot as a 2 man forman heading new construction jobs and trouble tickets. From then to 02/2022 I ran multiple major jobs and multiple storm work jobs going to Texas 3 times, Louisiana 2 times, South Carolina, new York, Mississippi, and multiple storm calls on our local contract.
