  • Conducted field and lab research on a day-to-day basis (Mon-Friday) during the summer months (Late May – Early August).
  • Inoculated different subspecies of wheat with Fusarium gramine arum in a lowland environment, rated species based on resistance to pathogen, integrated management spraying fungicide in highland field, field maintenance, setting routine for field sprayers, building, and setting up weather stations in the field, helped harvest both lowland and highland fields.
  • Making PDA plates for the cultivation of Fusarium graminearum, long-term storage of samples in cold storage, cultivation of leaf rust (Puccinia puccinia) and stem rust (Puccinia graminis using a misting chamber, misting chamber maintenance (repairs, caulking, moving), shaker assembly and use, cultivation of Fusarium graminearum in mung bean broth to make inoculant, filtering of Fg inoculant in a sterile environment (Hood).
  • Collected and prepared leaf and stem rust samples for cold storage.
