I am finishing my second-year studying Architectural Engineering at Cal Poly, SLO where I have taken courses such as Structural CAD for Building Design, Mechanics of Structural Members, and Introductory Construction Management. These courses have focused tremendously on the development of skills in Revit and AutoCAD. I also gained hours of practice hand drafting construction details, making project schedules, and performing cost analyses. In my Structural based classes, I have learned how to analyze stresses, load flows, and material properties in different situations. I hope to continue developing these skills and more with real world practice within the industry.
Design Village is an annual event held at Cal Poly SLO a few miles behind campus in Poly Canyon. Each year, first-year architecture studio teams design, fabricate, carry two miles, and sleep two nights in a temporary structure.
