Motivated student nurse soon to be completing Associates in Science in Nursing (A.S.N) from St. Petersburg College. Seek to gain real-world experience in pursuit of Registered Nurse designation, while contributing to patient care with strong clinical abilities and judgement. Enthusiastic about delivering exceptional care to each patient. Always ready to learn new skills via academic and hands-on training, Familiar with wound care, medication administration and electronic charting. Desire to build core clinical abilities to become a Florida-qualified Registered Nurse.

Semester 1- Encompass Health: Actively participated in the delivery of comprehensive nursing care to patients with a variety of rehabilitation needs. 

• Develop strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members from diverse backgrounds; Including active listening, empathy, and providing clear concise information.
• Learn basic documentation skills through paper charting for 1:1 patient care.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of rehabilitation principles, common diagnoses, and treatment modalities relevant to the patient population. Continuously expanding knowledge base through independent learning and participation in educational opportunities.
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing valuable insights and collaborating with other health care professionals to develop and implement comprehensive patient care.

Semester 2- Mease Countryside, Bilheimer 4: Actively participated in the delivery of comprehensive nursing care to patients with more direct focus in gastroenterology.

• Successfully administered medications under direct supervision, demonstrating adherence to safety protocols and proper technique.
• Introduced to and accurately documented basic patient information, including vital signs and I&Os using the hospital's electronic health record system.
• Actively participated in patient rounds, observing for signs of distress, changes in condition, or potential complications, and reporting findings to the appropriate healthcare provider.
• Gained exposure to common gastroenterology procedures, such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, and endoscopic ultrasound, and assisted in patient care related to these procedures.
• Strengthened communication skills in interacting with patients, families, and healthcare providers, fostering a supportive and empathetic environment.

Semester 3- Mease Countryside, Schaefer 4: Actively participated in the delivery of comprehensive nursing care to patients with more direct focus in Oncology and Post-op procedures.

• Successfully administered a wide range of medications, including complex regimens and controlled substances, demonstrating a strong understanding of dosage calculations, administration routes, and safety protocols.
• Accurately documented medication administration, including time, route, dosage, and patient response, using the hospital's electronic health record system.
• Actively participated in pre-operative patient preparation, ensuring that patients were adequately informed, comfortable, and prepared for their surgical procedures. Along with comprehensive post-operative care, including monitoring vital signs, assessing pain levels, managing wound care, and assisting with patient mobility.
• Gained experience in managing central venous catheters (CVCs), including port and PICC line care, dressing changes, and flushing procedures.

Semester 4- Morton Plant, Witt 4: Actively participated in the delivery of comprehensive nursing care to patients on an CVICU step down floor with a more direct focus in cardiology.

• Demonstrated proficiency in administering a wide range of cardiac medications, including antiarrhythmic, anticoagulants, and beta-blockers, in accordance with established protocols. Similarly, acquired knowledge of administering medication drips, including calculating dosages, monitoring infusion rates, and assessing for adverse effects.
• Actively participated in pre-operative preparations for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort, while gaining experience in nuclear medicine procedures, including assisting with patient preparation, image acquisition, and data analysis.
• Utilized telemonitoring equipment to continuously monitor patients' cardiac rhythms, identifying any abnormal findings and reporting them to the appropriate healthcare provider.
• Demonstrated strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in managing complex patient situations, including responding to cardiac emergencies.
