• Guide instruction based and general education curriculum with an additional focus on Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals, behavior management, communication, social and adaptive living skills
• Create systematic instructional plans to teach new skills through task analysis while utilizing reinforcement, shaping, prompting, fading, chaining, and discrimination
• Monitor student progress and lesson effectiveness through ongoing data collection
• Maintain consistent communication with families to best support the student as a collaborative team
• Design and implement an intensive schedule for staff and visual schedule for students to create clear classroom expectations
• Write and present Educational Evaluation Reports based on results from the Standardized Brigance Assessment.
• Prepare students for the Virginia Alternate Assessment Program or Standards of Learning Tests
• Collaborate with related service providers to utilize their knowledge on how to best implement supports in the classroom
• Write and revise student IEPs and ensure necessary accommodations are documented and provided
