Work History

Concierge, Teacher, Teacher Assistant, Painter, Resin Tech, Retail Stocker, Glass Breaker, Spray Painter

The Shard Shop, Grayton Beach, FL
Grayton Beach
06.2024 - Current
  • I have worked at the Shard Shop in Grayton Beach as a concierge, teacher, teacher assistant, painter, resin tech, retail stocker, glass breaker, spray painter, and more. This job taught me how be a better communicator, team player, customer driven, flexible in unexpected situations, and to considerate of those around me. Working concierge has taught me patience and how to be understanding with others no matter the situation, allowing everyone who comes into the shop to walk out with a smile. Working as a teacher has allowed me to gain memorization skills and take into account each detail for the safety of others. While it can be difficult being the youngest worker and the one with the most responsibility, the team there has taught me through their actions to lift each other up and always choose kindness.
  • 3-4 days a week

Plant Watering
06.2022 - Current
  • I often get asked to water my neighbors plants when they are out of town. The watering schedule differs year-round, so I have to learn and memorize exactly what they need me to do, and preform the task to the best of my ability each time. This has taught me to listen and pay attention to instruction when it is given, as well as work around uncontrollable events (in this case, rain)
  • When needed

Babysitting
06.2019 - Current
  • I worked to assist parents by providing care to young children (ages 4 months -10 years) through supervision and engaging activities to keep their children happy and safe while they are away. Through babysitting, I have learned how to communicate with parents and be responsible for caring for another person.
  • When needed

Pet Sitting
- Current
  • I have provided care and companionship for many pets when their owners are out of town and need someone to look after their furry friend. From this, I know how to be attentive, keep a sharp eye on things, be friendly yet cautious, and how to stick to a schedule.
  • When needed

Community Service

  • Food for Thought, Present, I helped package backpacks of food to give to students who are less fortunate in our community. This experience taught me to give back, and put others before myself, and that I enjoy helping out when and where I can.
  • Emerald Coast Theatre Company, Present, I volunteered in the educational program to teach kids the art of theater. Through this program, I learned how to communicate with kids in a way that they are able to understand, while keeping them safe, while allowing them to have fun and learn.
  • Magnet Innovation Center (MIC) Summer Camps, Present, For the two years I attended the school, I aided in the many camps held during the summer for students either interested in STEAM careers or just having a fun time. I helped with many different activities, whether in the science building, making arts and crafts with kids, or even taking care of a teacher’s baby throughout the week. I gained experience staying aware of my surroundings and making sure I was doing each task correctly and effectively.
  • Christ the King Trunk or Treat, Present, Every year, I volunteer at the Halloween night that Christ the King hosts for kids and teens. I help out wherever the event coordinator needs me, completing each task to the best of my ability, helping the event run smoothly and allowing everyone to have a great night, with lots of smiles, laughs, and candy.
  • VBS at the Chapel at Crosspoint, Present, I created games and activities for kids to learn about the message of Christ. I learned to problem solve quickly and think on my feet in response to the needs of children.
  • VBS at Christ the King, Present, For the past five years, I have aided in the summer program at Christ the King. In 2022, I prepared food for the kids and entertained them while they ate their snacks, and for the past 4 summers, I have led the same group of kids while they go through each grade throughout the day’s events. I very quickly learned how to adjust with different children’s personality types in order to better communicate with them, and I learned that it is important to get to know and remember the people I interact with in order to make people feel seen and important. I plan to continue volunteering here every summer possible, having fun with the kids and helping them learn about Jesus.
  • Point Washington Medical Clinic, Present, I have been volunteering at the PWMC, screening people before they enter the clinic, as well as going around to each patient in the waiting room checking in on them and aiding them in anything I can. Once I turn 18, I will be able to broden my opportunities of what I can do to help out, taking patients back to the rooms, checking them in upfront, etc. I plan to continue volunteering here as long as I can, and coming back to help during breaks.

Extracurricular Activities

My theater skills have taught me confidence, improvisation, and how to overcome challenges. I have led two productions, co-directed three, and overall acted in 7 productions. I attended FTC (Florida Theatre Conference) to learn more about the theatrical world and how skills learned in theater can aid in many other aspects of life. I can use this training when working with customers because I can quickly answer questions, and get them the most reliable information. Theatre also has helped my memorization skills and ability to follow directions.
