I did a two-year stint doing volunteer home repair in the Appalachian region from 2016-2018 (and I've been intermittently involved with the nonprofit since then.)
Then I worked for Onederings Lavender Farm for several years, maintaining the fields, helping to sell products at farmers markets as well as helping to manufacture the products (cosmetic items) and fulfill online orders. I have some experience with landscaping as I carried out several projects to improve the customer experience including installing a boardwalk and rock garden. I also took care of the invasives such as hemlock and honeysuckle with herbicides, making sure I used the right chemicals and the right protective gear.
After my job at Onederings, I worked as a construction framer for two years for Michael Redslob, independent contractor and owner of Transfigurations. We built new houses, additions, and remodeling existing houses, replaced roofs, and demolition. I am proficient in both power tools and hand tools. My duties included properly building the floors, building exterior and interior walls using proper framing and bracing techniques.
What I will bring to the job is the willingness to work hard, to learn new stuff always, to work as a team and to do all of the above safely.
