Detail-oriented, organized and energetic employee. A fun sociable guy who loves making friends, but can flip a switch that showcases that extreme work ethic that will go to infinite lengths in order to get projects, and tasks done. Often find myself as the enthusiastic excited one who wants to always have the best project. Fit into any team role, but specifically excels in a leadership position. Always giving personal remarks during a project on methods to overcome/better the product. Very excited, passionate, and excited to become an engineer.
Engineers rule the world!
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE): This club provides the members a variety of resources such as networking, professional skills, team bonding skills, and a brother hood. During my time at this club I will network with employers, partake in a project that highlights my engineering skills, and develop professionally. I will talk at high schools about engineering at what Northern Illinois University can offer them, and volunteer at many STEM fests!
Aerospace Club: In aerospace club we plan to take the design of a previously working RC plane, and reverse engineer it in order to get it working again. We will use technical skills, teamwork, and perseverance in order to get the plane to fly at a high velocity! During our time where we are not working on the plane, we study or help each other do homework.
Volunteer Cross Country coach: During this summer, on top of tutoring, and being a teller, I volunteered at my old high school as a cross country coach. Camp would start at 6:30am and end around 8am which meant I spent my summer waking very early in order to get to camp before anyone else. During this time I spent time speaking about the mental and physical challenges cross country gives and mentor these kids through that. I never had a big brother that did that for me so I always get very excited whenever there is an opportunity for me to give some advice to the youth.
I run around 40 miles a week. In high school, when I was in track, I ran a 1:56.00 second 800m, 4:22min mile, 9:48min 2 mile, and a 15:37 3 mile. I do not run for a team in college, but most recently I ran a 16:04 5K at my local turkey trot (Thanksgiving day 5k). I also lift as well which explains my 225lb bench press. I play chess on my phone a little here and there. My highest elo I ever had was 1031. I also like to golf with my friends on the weekends.
